When Mr. Niels Lind bought his new Nimbus motorboat in Autumn of 2008, FURUNO Danmark A/S (FDK) was appointed to prepare the boat for long summer cruises among the European inland waterways, starting in the summer of 2009. For this trip, one of the issues was to install quality equipment. FURUNO was chosen due to the NavNet 3D functionality and the general reputation of the brand, with many service stations in Europe. The package contained both navigation and communication equipment to complete the helm. Mr. Lind has an abundance of experience that was gained over many years as an active recreational sailor and it was not difficult for him to choose the right equipment for the boat. Gilleje Sailing School Aps. performed the technical installation of the navigation and communication package in Autumn 2008, upon NavNet 3D training at the FDK training center.
- At the helm inside the cabin, a NavNet 3D MFD12 and an NavPilot Autopilot control unit are installed in front of the steering wheel. The well laid out helm places the electronics and switches in very easy reach.
